London, England (July 14, 2025)
Most people understand that the equator separates the north and south hemispheres. But do you know that you can visit longitude zero in Greenwich and put one foot in the western hemisphere and one foot in the eastern hemisphere? Like this:
That golden line marks longitude zero separating east and west hemispheres.
And yes, that is in fact my power pose. And yes, I’m barefoot so that I can ground deep into the earth while I intentionally place one foot on each side of this line that we have, as humans, admittedly arbitrarily divided up the earth so that it all fits neatly on a map. But wait there’s more.
The Prime Meridian means Greenwich Mean Time starts right here!
Yes, if you’ve read my Inc.com article titled, Billionaires Master the Rule of 168: Life’s Great Equalizer, then you know why this is so important to me. Time is life’s great equalizer. It doesn’t matter who you are, what you’ve accomplished (or have yet to accomplish), or anything else. We all get exactly 168 hours each week — no more, no less. It’s what we do with these hours that matters and determines who we are and the legacy we leave.
By the way, who was holding my camera sharing this incredible day with me? Oh, that’s right, I already spoiled the surprise with the link to this post, didn’t I?
I had the honor and privilege of spending this day with Tricia Bolender
Tricia Bolender flew in from Luxembourg to spend the day with me in London. It truly was an incredible day and I’m so glad we were able to spend the day together. It’s amazing to me that when two incredibly passionate people choose to intentionally dedicate a day of their lives together, the magic that is produced as a result of that focused intention.
I have such love and admiration for every coach in the world. Each of us is dedicated to creating our own impact in such a unique way, I can’t help but feel the gravity of the incredible work we all to in this industry. I’m so proud of all of us and the contributions we make every day.
Time may, indeed, be an illusion, but it’s one that surrounds all that we do.
I fully acknowledge that time is a man-made concept and, ultimately, an illusion. But as illusions go, it’s at the center of our careers and the work lives of the majority of the people we choose to coach. Understanding time and the mastery of time (even as an illusion) is such a powerful concept, it’s worth checking in on from, well, time to time.
Throughout my journey, it’s easy to spot clocks just about everywhere you look. It’s literally what keeps the trains moving on time and allows merchants to trade with each other. The history of time zones are rich and powerful. They are so grounding in the very concepts of where all of this growth and commerce comes from. It can be so supportive to reframing the the present as we look to the future.
