Pacific Harbour Jungle (March 1, 2026)
I can’t believe it’s March. This begins my final four months of traveling the world as I plan to return to Port Washington, NY at the end of June, 2026. Meanwhile, tropical cyclone Urmil has arrived in Fiji brining with it heavy rains … like buckets of water falling from the sky. So one option is to stay in doors and keep dry. The other option is to pick up the house machete and go clean up the backyard jungle trails. Which do you think Will and I opted for?!? Here’s a hint …
Will is excited to have a machete back in his hands
The last time Will yielded a machete was on Indian Lake, New York. He invited a number of his friends to go camping and, just like today, it rained … heavily! While a number of his friends stayed in their tents watching previously downloaded shows from Netflix, Will and I got out our machete and cleaned up the trails along the island. This was not only encouraged, but appreciated by the park ranger who we spoke with before heading to the island where we camped out for the week.
We got SOAKED. The rain came down harder than if we took a shower
The AirBnb where we’re staying has several acres of land between the house and the closest neighboring property which is a golf course. While we didn’t make it all the way to the golf course, we got close before the rain got so heavy, that the trails we were making turned into rivers flowing where there once was a trail.
We got absolutely soaked! And yet, as Elena wisely point out, when it’s pouring rain, there’s no sunscreen to worry about, nor do we need bug spray. The weather is cooler, so it’s not as hot. So bring it on rain! We’re enjoying tropical cyclone Urmil.
