Nai Harn Beach, Phuket (November 11, 2025)

Yesterday (November 10th), we took it easy. It was a simple day with regular life including grocery shopping, laundry, balanced with swimming in the complex pool, going out to eat and getting thai massages. We caught up on emails, I did a few podcast recordings, called family members and took it easy. A simple day. A relaxing day.

Today is a full on beach day. Got up and navigated the Uber-equivalent here in Phuket (called Bolt). Ride shares have made it so much easier to get around and they now come with multi-language translators so it makes it really easy to communicate with each other. No hassle to be picked up right in front of our Airbnb and dropped off right at the front of the beach.

Simple pleasure of looking out to the ocean and breathing deep

The winds kept us relatively cool on an otherwise hot day and the waves were perfect for body surfing and boogie boarding. We hesitated to put on sunscreen as it was raining a little bit when we first arrived. Our thinking was, “Well, since it’s raining, we’ll just go play in the ocean, and then dry off and put on sunscreen after that.”

Good in theory, but the UV index was high and we got burned anyway. Lesson learned. Meanwhile, there was a wonderful restaurant nearby, making this a very convenient beach to hang out by all day.

We will be back. The water was warm and inviting. The waves were fun to play in and very little undertow. After a full day at the beach, we enjoyed relaxing back at our place and started catching up on Season 5 of Only Murders in the Building. It’s been awhile since we watch anything together. It was really nice.
