Paris Nightlife (September 5, 2025)
After a long day of travel from Amsterdam to Paris, it’s best to drop your bags at the hotel, grab dinner and go dancing. At least, that they way Violet and I felt having arrived in Paris.
Violet hits the dance floor at Queer House Party 2
It’s Friday night and Paris is alive with energy. Violet and I scan all the possible dance venues and come across Queer House Party 2. The music spans multiple generations and the best part is that it ends at 2am. A few of the other venues began a midnight and go until 6am the next morning — but we have other plans for Saturday, so we’re not quite up to that all night dance vibe.
View from above. My iPhone doesn’t love the red light, but you get the idea
We stayed for as long as we wanted and enjoyed the music together. It was really good to get our energy up after a long day of travel. The DJs were playing a mix of old favorites and newer music. What mattered most was that the crowd was enjoying themselves and that always makes the experience more inviting to join in and dance it out.
After that we made our way back to our hotel room, but not before coming across this (functional?) artwork right outside the venue:
Basketball hoop turned into artwork — or is this just a functional practice spot?
What caught our eye was the top (aspirational?) rung of the various sized basketball hoops. The top rung was higher than the professionals play and seemed to beckon anyone with a basketball to “give it a shot.” Perhaps that was what the piece is all about … inspiring us to “aim higher” and “shoot bigger” than we might otherwise expect. Or it could just be a really strange spot to practice playing basketball — it was hard to tell late at night. Either way, it got us talking.
Paris fountains are stunning at night. My camera doesn’t do this justice.
The other thing Violet and I stopped and admired were the fountains at night. When they are well lit they really pop in the middle of the squares where they reside. We had to take a moment to admire before heading back to our hotel. Ready for the most iconic day we expect to have in Paris.
