Andamanda, Phuket (November 13, 2025)
I don’t blame Elena for the lack of pictures I have to show for today. Really, I don’t. When we go to a water park, it’s best to leave your phones in your locker. I know that. The water park knows that. Their camera people who come along and take your picture periodically throughout the day know that. And the prices they charge reflect that.
It’s just that before we even walked up to see the pictures, I was already factoring all of this into my thinking, considering what I was willing to pay. Elena knew that, statistically, we rarely buy, so why “waste time” here on something we’re not likely to do? Besides, we got our pictures taken before we went into the water park:
THE picture a fellow guest took of us before our day together
So again, when Elena commented, “These look good, but they are not worth it” and walked away, my (good husband?) instinct was to follow her. But part of me hesitated thinking it was worth it.
But ultimately, I didn’t want to make Elena and Violet wait while I talked to the sales person and figured out how to transfer all the pictures to my phone, email or however they do it these days. So instead of SHOWING you the awesome day that we had together, let me TELL you about it instead.
Wait, I lied. There are 4 pictures in total. I’ll use them sparingly … ;-)
Elena, Violet and I have seen the temples, done some of the day trips and thanks to Claire Dilly, just had a wonderful 4 hour culture “crash course” last night (see related post). Today was all about cranking the fun factor up to 10+. Andamanda Phuket is considered to be one of (if not THE) best water slide parks in Phuket (and arguably Thailand). We loooooved it.
It’s all about waterslides. What’s not to loooooove?
And so there’s only two things to share about this amazing day. First, we got up early so that we could be here right when the park opened. This proved to be a great move on our part. No lines, no waiting for all the slides for the first full hour we were there. Only a few lines in the second hour. We were CHARGING this park and getting so many rides in, it was really, really fun.
The second thing is that they had a wave pool and a “flowrider.” If you’re not familiar with the flowrider, it’s a wave-like practice area where you’re perpetually riding a wave on a boogie board. When you screw up, you tumble UP the small wave and restart again. Elena, Violet and I each had a turn and blast riding this and by doing it in the morning, there was no one waiting on us and we weren’t waiting for anyone else while we were all playing together.
Last (and final) picture of the day as we exit the park
And that is my fourth and final picture for the day. All I can say is that we had a wonderful time playing together. (And next time I’ll get the pictures so I can share them ;-)
