Farewell, Phuket (March 23, 2026)
In our first visit to Rawai (Phuket, Thailand), Elena, Violet and I explored all that this part of the world has to offer. We explored many temples, went scuba diving with Aloha Divers, met Miss Palestine, had a full cultural immersion experience with our friend Claire Dilly, went to the beach and visited our favorite waterslide park … and loved it so much, we went twice.
All of these posts really had our son Will consider joining us. And we’re so glad we did. We came to this part of the world a second time so that Will can do all of this with us. And we did! Specifically:
Scuba Diving (fortunately with Aloha Divers)
Beach Day (also at Nai Harn beach)
But this time, we added a few new features including the Phuket Bird Park, an aquarium, a cat cafe, and many, many sunrises. So yes, we were here in November and back four months later in 2026 (as you can kind of make out by the updated sign in front of the beach):
Visiting Rawai a second time in 2026
We really had a wonderful time together. The bigger AirBnb worked out great and it was still as close to everything as our last one … time time with 3 bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms. It was a VERY comfortable stay and a wonderful time for our family. This is a wonderful place to spent your vacation time with your family if you are able to get out here.
And there’s always more. This time, on our last day in Phuket, Will, Violet and I ventured over to Nai Harn beach to explore a playground Will clocked, allow me to check out the outdoor gym and watch the sun go down. While we were there, I clocked (and joined) an outdoor Zumba class happening in the final hour of sunlight.
Mad props to this Zumba instructor who leads classes for tips!
How cool was this? To dance outdoors while the sun is going down. Great music, new dance moves, and an epic red sky to admire while dancing in a high energy way. LOVE IT!
So farewell, Phuket. We loved being here a second time and I have a feeling this won’t be our last. We’ve gotten to know the Rawai area, enjoy all the inexpensive Thai massages, great food, and epic sunrises. So relaxing, calming and peaceful. We love it here.
And CATS!!! There are SO MANY Beautiful Cats in Rawai
