Back to Tokyo, Japan. This time Elena, Violet and Bill Carmody are joined by son and brother Will Carmody. And rather than staying in a tiny hotel, we opted to live an hour outside of Tokyo in Shiroi, Japan for a truly baller home life experience.

Flying for 6 hours on a plane, then check out Bugonia if you haven’t already watched it. This may not be Emma Stone’s best movie, but it certainly was my favorite — even more than La La Land. I like more action and intensity vs romance and dancing.

Final thoughts on Hanoi, Vietnam the second time around as the Carmodys pack up and get ready to travel to Tokyo tomorrow.

Ninh Binh, Vietnam is one of my favorite day trips and today I get to share it with my family and Duc, my Hanoi friend I met here last year. I can’t replicate my experience, but I can offer all the same elements.

Summarizing our time in Phuket, Thailand this second time around, it’s a lot of cats, sunrises, pools and beaches. Sun, fun and relaxing with the family.

Another aquarium? Indeed. It’s something that our whole family can enjoy together and every one we’ve visited has been different from the previous ones.

Nai Harn beach in Phuket, Thailand is wonderful for many things, but sunrises aren’t one of them. Elena and Bill Carmody ventured over for long walks on the sand and an incredible breakfast at Rock Salt Cafe.

When traveling the world for a year, it’s easy to miss your pet(s). Thankfully, there are cat cafes all over the world where Elena, Will, Violet and Bill Carmody can get some pets from borrowed cats abroad.

The Carmodys return to Andamanda, Phuket, this time with Will Carmody. Yes, this is a repeat of an epic day together, only this time we add our son, Will, along with Elena, Violet and Bill Carmody. Splash!

For the last several days, Elena and Bill Carmody have got up at 5:30am to go for an early morning walk in Phuket, Thailand and greet the sun as it rises.

Since our son Will missed the Thailand temple tour back in November, Elena and I took him to see one of the “must see” temples near where we’re staying.

Will Carmody, my son, wanted to check out the bird park here in Phuket, Thailand. This turned out to be such a cool day including Violet, Will and Elena feeding an ostrich.

Bill Carmody celebrates 3 years of sobriety on March 13, 2026 and reflects on the last three years without alcohol (and the continued gifts of sobriety).

What to watch on a 17 hour travel day? This is definitely a “Netflix and Fly” day. Season 2 of One Piece just dropped, so I’ll start there and see how I feel after bing watching this season.
